I was just looking at the weather site and it looks like that thing stretches all the way up into Canada and is heading our way.

Wind and rain for the rest of the week..

I flew into WDC yesterday, on the first leg of my African safari. Trying to fly out of Reagan tomorrow afternoon to Atlanta to catch a flight to Amsterdam then to Tanzania. After all the time I spent researching this trip (and my camera gear) hate to see it end in Washington. Mad

Ah this aint nothing just some rain and strong winds, as you can see I even still have power, just sucks because I wanted to fire up my smoker and clean up the leaves in the yard. But at least there wont be any leaves left in the trees to have to clean up.

From what I've seen, y'all need to batten down and buckle up - gonna be a wild ride. I hope everyone comes out okay. Thoughts and prayers sent your way.

Thanks Roxy, I'm sure we'll see lots of interesting things there! I flew to Washington a day early to beat the storm and have been holed up at my cousins house for 30 hours. Kinda going stir crazy... Supposed to fly out of Washington tomorrow at 6pm, God willing. I brought some smoked cheese from home but security at the airport kept it. Must be the agents heard how good my smoked cheese is. Laughing

Hope everyone is safe in teh east coast and around the great lakes !!!

we got some wind and about 4" snow here in central Ohio nothing major ...

18ft waves , that's some big water , I have been on Green Bay and Lake Michigan on a 38 foot boat with 14-16 ft waves , I can tell you that was no fun !! but we made it although we were a little unsure at times... It was in November and the temp was about 30 degrees...

Only lost power from 4-5 PM yesterday. Very surprised power came back on. 20% of the town is without power.

Sister-in-law in NJ has house damage and no power.

Can't get through to in-laws in NJ or my mom in CT.

Looks like our cars in the driveway have ben power washed.

Lots of little branches in the yard. I've been clearing out the woods.

A dead tree by the vernal pool is leaning on another tree and has to be cut down.

PaulO, from what I heard Verizon's network got slammed, maybe why you can't get through.
Thoughts and prayers to everyone affected, thankfully I got off easy, less than 18hrs. without power. Very Happy
Sadly others are looking at days, best wishes to all.

I think you're right.

Nan received a text from JCP&L that 97% of Somerset county, where her parents are, is without power; 85% of Hunterdon.

FYI Paul.... I wouldn't touch the tree by the vernal pool without contacting the local conservation agent. Those are protected areas and screwing with them could lead you to big fines.
