...So 3 or so years ago i signed up with a temp agency, specifically telling them i want long term to hire jobs, OTW dont bother me.
I got an email just before labor day about some promotion they were doing and sent in my updated resume. I have been working the last 2 days in a SS metal supply warehouse. The 2 other warehouse guys were ready to hire me after the first day, and the lead guy today got the ok to put me on the lifts as my FL certs passed corporate regs. At the end of the day he said "I want yiou back next week". So he just needs to get it past the boss man in the building.
I also got points for being the guy that bbq's a chit load and brings in leftovers... Wink
If i make it through the temp contract i will actually be back to the wages i was making back in '08 when i left my long term/they wanted me to leave long term employer.

I really hope this becomes home.

That's outstanding, glad to hear it, I wonder how much the "bringing left over q had to do with it" Laughing seriously though congrats.

OS

Congrats !! I hope it works out for you... I was fortunate that I was only unemployed 8 months..... we shall see how long this one lasts , it is quite a different job than my last one , but , it pays more so not all bad....

I have been wanting to bring in some left over Q , but , still to many fluctuations in my cooks...

once again congrats....

Dan

Take in the leftovers from the good cooks and bad ones. Nothing like a captive crowd to critique your food.

Well they dont want me in next week. But they want me there the following week.
I was told before the first day that they would be hiring a person towards the end of the month/October by the temp agency. So that is about the right time frame.

Thanks for all of the well wishes. It felt good to work. It was neat to learn about stuff i had no idea about(stainless steel).

Well today i went to an orientation for a company called CLP, going back to my construction roots. But back to the basics of labor for now, it has been a long time since being on a job site and this old dog needs to learn the new tricks.
They called 4 hours after the "O" show with a job for tomorrow. I will see if i am needed Friday. Decent wages to boot, at least for me.
OTW i am locked in for next week at the SS warehouse. Then it sounds like the following week i might possibly have 2 employers fighting for me and my skills.
Been a long time since i have done serious labor work, but at my age, it really is needed and wanted(I can get back to my fighting wait when i was in my 20's).
Neat thing is that this new place has offices all over the USA, so i might see some traveling in my future.
