Jason, I just wanted to say thanks for the hospitality and great food. The brisket definitely ranks in the top 3 I have ever eaten. I will see you again in a few weeks when I head back up this way.

It was good meeting you too! When will you be coming back my way? I think you told me, but I forgot Smile

Thanks for the compliments on the brisket. Also, let me know what I need to do on that CVAP.

Moonie

My wife will be at the AmericasMart on February 2nd for the spring apparel show, so I will be up there then. Plus I have some equipment to pick up sometime soon up that way.

I will send you a email about the cvap.

One of our friends always wore a silver belly colored western hat...several months ago he switched to a black hat - everyone told him he finally got a hat color to match his reputation - black!

Seriously I like to word presentation 'got brisket' and the overall layout and concept.

Made some updates to our counter this week! Also, ordered a custom neon sign that will say "MOONIE'S" in red with a clear backing that will hang above the lean to. Letters will be 18" tall and the sign will be about 7' wide.

Earlier today I ordered a 3'x5' Texas flag that is going to be flown above the capital building in Austin on Feb 28th signifying the day we are opening full-time. Pretty pumped about that.

Moonie, congratulations on the flag and I love the decals for the door. When I finally make it up your way I'll have my ruger on my hip.

I like the new sticker for the door.

I will not do business with stores that have the no guns allowed sign on their door. I used to just carry right past it, but I realized I was supporting something I'm against.

Great decision IMO, if these store owners think that little sign will stop an armed robbery, they are very confused.

You know I grew up in Buford. When I was a kid, the local BBQ joint was Wade's and wasn't far from you. Mr Wade wore overalls every day and carried a small pistol in the bib pocket. He called that pistol "Little Brother" and would warn anybody who got out of line that they might have to talk to Little Brother about the situation.

That's awesome. I've got an FNP 9m on my hip every time I leave the house. I carry inside my waste band so no one has a clue.

Which is a good thing, so the scumbags who may take the time to research their targets, realize he is not an easy mark and may move on to easier places to rob.

Congrats on the success and thank you very much for the detailed look into the opening of Moonies.

I just read all 23 pages and it was good reading. I wish you the best of luck.

I didn't notice any updates on the Garage at Moonie's. Anything stirring on that front? Seems like that one could be good or bad.

Also am I reading it right.... you sell by the 1/4 pound or larger? How much are sides and what size are they?

Sorry for the questions I know you are busy.

If I am ever in that area I will stop by. We need good BBQ here in my area of SoCal

Thanks for reading! Its been an awesome journey so far.

We sell by the weight, so you can get 1/4lb, 1/3lb, 0.4lb, whatever you want. Our scales will tell us the final price based on per lb price and actual weight.

The garage is still going to happen, I'm just working on getting open full time right now. I can't decide if the covered deck or the bar/garage will come first though.

We got NEON! My electrician is coming on Friday to move the light. The sign is 8ft wide..lol.. Love it.

We opened full time this week. Our first lunch was a little slow yesterday but it picked up today. I figure it's going to take a few weeks for people to learn that we are open during the week now.
