Trying to continue with eating healthy, Mrs. G and I decided on seafood last night. A trip to Central Market and rainbow trout was on the menu.
Kept it simple with some salt and pepper, lemon slices, rosemary and thyme. Mine also got some DP Jamaican Firewalk for some heat. Went on to the Egg at 400 along with some apple wood for smoke.
Came out pretty good and healthy as well. I think the Firewalk was a bit too much for such a mild fish and next time I might just go with the Swamp Venom, if anything at all.
The rest of the story, as always, is HERE _________________ www.griffinsgrub.wordpress.com |

I love trout, especially when it's fresh from the stream into my backpacking skillet.
I might have to give it a try grilling some store bought trout on the grill cuz that does look tasty _________________ Brinkmann Verticle Water Smoker

I wish I could get it straight outta the stream, but I have to settle for store bought. _________________ www.griffinsgrub.wordpress.com |

Yeah, the thing is my fresh caught trout is usually 2-3 days hike into the backcountry, so there is no option for smoking, grilling etc, it's pan-fry only with some rub I bring along and usually cooked in bacon fat or garlic olive oil. Then the 2nd course is usually some freeze-dried meal. _________________ Brinkmann Verticle Water Smoker
