|
|
I love Tri Tips and was snooping some recipes the other day and came across this one. Was skeptical at first, and didnt want to make dog chow out of a nice chunk of meat, but decided what the hey, never know till you try
The ingrediants used.
Everything mixed in a bowl; 1 packed cup of brown sugar, 1 can of pineapple and its juice, 2 cups teriyaki sauce, and the recipe called out for a full cup of minced garlic , but I only used a 1/4 cup.
The Tri Tip
Tri Tip in the mixture and set in the fridge overnight.
Out of the fridge about 18 hours later and into the DO.
Havent got a DO table put together yet, so still using the Redneck version.
55 minutes in the DO and let it rest for 15 mins and then sliced. It was probably the most tender Tri Ive cut.
Plated with some shrimp and a big baked potatoe the I did in our rotisserie.
It was really pretty good. The teriyaki flavor was not strong and you could taste the pineapple well. Didnt notice the garlic at all, so maybe more is good, just not sure about a whole cup. Ill cook it again sometime and have some rice and spread the marinade over it all. This time I just put the marinade in a bowl and dipped the Tri in it.
Thanks for looking _________________ Trailers By Troy

Brother Troy,
Looks good and tastey bro!
I wonder what those shrimp would taste like over rice with that sauce? You could take a little bit of the sauce and put a couple of the shrimp in it and set it in the fridge overnight for a side test. Ok, I know, I'm getting side tracked... just sayin shimp teriyaki & Tri-tip sound good to me this morning.
This thread has made me hungry... I need a cup of coffee and some food right about now
Oh, and my doctor would kill me if I ate that potatoe with half cup of butter on it.
I like'm like that too... but but he would sh%t his pants.
I should e-mail him a link to this thread maybe we can convert him
I need to smoke some meat today...
This vegan diet aint so tuff _________________ SEE YA!

Chuck, Thanks Bro
I think that Dr of yours is a quack!! Who could not like that much butter on a meal It really worked out well because the taters were hot as he!! and the butter melted quickly and puddled around the shrimp....worked perfect! Next time I make it, I might just throw some shrimp in the DO during the cook, I dont see how a person could go wrong with that at all, but thats just my thinking
Hope all is well your way Bro _________________ Trailers By Troy
