Just wondering for those that like to inject what do you use? I found making it simple seems to taste better and make it more tender but don't know.
My last brisket was injected with Worchester Sauce and RC Cola. It was awesome. I also made one with squeezed limes and Dos Equis lager.

I've also tried true brisket marinade and Allegro. Some marinades store bought though have seeds or too many spices in it and clogs my injector. Trying to think of something else to try such as something strange as apple cider vinegar and a juice.

As for slather....I'm not tired of mustard but the only reason I use it is so many recommend it. I'm starting to think what's the point of it besides making a mess. If it's for thicker bark I guess I get it. I've never tried olive oil or any other oil but I heard some use that and then there is some that don't use anything except rub. One time I tried maple syrup for slather as an experiment and was warned but tried it anyways and was a fail due to the high content of the sugar in it and got too burnt.

I found this injection in a book I have.
1 pkg Frenchs Aus Jus sauce seasoning
1 cup of Moores Marinade
1 tbsp of Hot Sauce Petes
2 cans of beef broth
3 tbsp melted bacon grease
1 tbsp mesquite liquid smoke
Make the Aus Jus sauce according to package use the beef broth instead of water. Mix in the rest of ingredients and simmer for 15 min. Let cool before injecting.

I will boil some beef broth with whatever rub I'm using on the brisket so the rub dissolves in the beef broth. Let it cool down (put a little ice in it) and sometimes I'll add a little of whatever beer I have (usually Dos Equis or Corona) to help cool it off faster.

Inject it with this and let it sit and come up to room temp while I get the smoker ready.

Turns out VERY good...every time!!
