A friend of mine just released his first book Hunt, Gather, Cook: Finding the Forgotten Feast

I've bought and read a copy and my biased opinion is that it's a great book. It's not targeted at avid hunters or fishermen, but at people who have a passion for food that would like to start sourcing their own foods.

Broken up into three distinct sections, Foraging, Fishing, and Hunting it gives a good primer on all three, certainly enough to get a person started. It also has a decent number of recipes, almost all of which contain domestic alternatives to the wild ingredients.

it's cheap as chips on Amazon and well worth it.[/url]

I read an article on this book and have it on my wish list. Apparently he has a blog too. I'm going to search it out.
