Isn't today a day for honoring the dead. I think we have a day for the living, it's called Veterans Day. November 11th. _________________ Scott

Yes it is, but i dont think there is anything wrong with thanking those that risk their lives on a daily basis. from one service member to all that are on TSR. Thank you and may those that have fallen rest in peace.

As I Vet I appreciate the sentiment, however today is all about those who cashed the check and gave all their tomorrows so you can have yours, Freedom isn't free the cost is purchased in blood. Take a moment out of your day to reflect and remember these brave warriors and those that they left behind who knew them best. I will raise a glass of single malt to some Brothers who are gone but are with me always in memory and those who I never knew. I call him and thank him on both holidays. If, I choose to thank anyone that has fought for freedom. Then I do damn well as I please. Take your day of honor. |

Thank a vet or active service member every chance you get! Just remember that Memorial Day is not their day.
I do get a crawl in my throat every time I feel Memorial Day being watered down from it's true meaning.
Thank those that can hear your thanks every chance you get, but remember this day is to remember those who can hear your thanks no longer.
There is nothing "happy" about Memorial Day. _________________ Somewhere in Kenya...a village is missing their idiot. |

Well Moe, it's people like you that keep me from coming here and posting on this site. And that's easy for me to say. I guess your lucky SoEzzy is here to wipe your butt.
So let me sum it up for you so you can throw another temper tantrum.
Veterans Day is in November. It honors ALL veterans who served in the military.
Memorial Day is to honor all those who were killed in the service of our country.
Thanking Veterans on Memorial Day dishonors all those who paid the ultimate price for securing our FREEDOM... IMHO.
Give the Veterans you meet your utmost respect the other 364 days of the year. But at least give one day back to the dead and honor their memory and sacrifice.
That is what this day is about.
Let the hate posts and cry baby temper tantrums resume. _________________ Scott

Other peoples opinions are why they post here too.
I spoke to several family & family friends yesterday, including relatives that have lost loved ones in war time, (Afghanistan), and I tried to honor those that were lost and the ones that are left behind, blood family, or brotherhood of service family.
IMO I don't dishonor either with respect for the other... but that's just my opinion! _________________ Here's a change Robert.
