I will be going to Jocko's steakhouse in Nipomo, Ca this Saturday:

Those are the diet steaks as the second image is a new york strip at around 20 oz and the two below that are the filet Mignon at about 18oz. They have a "double-spencer, extra cut" that comes in around 54 oz.

This place has been around since the late 1800's and has their own cattle ranch in Texas. If you walk up on a Saturday night to try and get in, you are going to have to wait between 2-3 hours, so get there early.

When I have a nice big steak I dont want no starch beside it.. I want a plate of beef with maybe some mushrooms ontop.. thats it.. And like CB said.. I nice bit of red wine to wash it down.

A while back the wife and I had a couple prime rib steaks I picked up in Toronto that were 24 oz each... Now thats a meal. Wink

I will have to check and see how large the ribeye comes in. If I remember correctly, that might be what they are calling the "Spencer" steak, which the basic one is around 24oz, the double at 48 and the extra cut double around 54.

Nah, they don't get them that big. That's just crazy anyway. If you can finish a 54 oz steak in one sitting, you are probably just waiting for a coronary.
