So, the head photographer for the Super Bowl Champion Green Bay Packers owns a little travel agency that my wife does the books for - so we are tight - He emailed her last night saying we could stop by his recently deceased fathers office for a cool surprise - Vernon Biever, the first G.B.Packer official Photographer will be inducted into the Packer Hall of Fame this summer.
Here was the surprise:
The man to the left is Jim Biever - the current Packer photographer, the man on the right is "Red" the Packer equipment manager. No, thats not Rodgers......
Jim took a few pics of me and the wife with it - this was done with my cell...
A few years ago there was a large photo of a 70's Packers vs Eagles game behind this scene - but it is currently in my basement!! A signed, really cool gift from Vern!!
I have also received misc one of a kind photo's from them both over the years. Good friends are nice to have!!
OK, enough name dropping - this was just freakin cool!!
Yes.....I TOUCHED IT!!... _________________ Money Maker

We actually were not supposed to touch it....Red was wearing white gloves and polishing it almost the entire time, except when he was in the pic!He actually took the gloves off for the pic and then put them back on immediately. The thing is 7 pounds of 99.9% pure sterling silver, I wouldnt think my greazy hands would make it rust.....so I just touched the back of it when he wasnt looking....
It was kinda odd....he had it wrapped in a towel, ran from his car to the place we were - just wrapped in a towel so unless you knew what to look for you would have no idea....kinda ballzy yet quite smart! It was all over the local news last night as he was taking it from G.B. to Milwaukee to show at a Bucks game - we were just a friendly stop along the way! _________________ Money Maker

Very cool, indeed! I took a tour of Lambeau Field a few years ago and they let us walk out onto the field for pics. But I would trade that experience for yours anytime . Well, maybe..... _________________ The Matt Ryan of LIARS! (#2)

Mr. Tony those are wicked experiences. I was fortunate enough in my life that one of my buddies, Adam Graves, won a Stanley Cup and i got to see and hold his ring. But hey, we got one on them. You'll never see a BBQ trophy in there possession. _________________ WSM 18.5"

Sort of reminds me of the day I was sitting in Beaufort Inlet and saw the Stanley Cup cruise by on the bow of a small skiff. I think it was on it's way to Shackleford Banks for one heck of a party. No, we didn't touch it...but it was cool to see.
Very neat experience you had. _________________ Somewhere in Kenya...a village is missing their idiot. |
