Anyone know of a good dessert that you can easily make on top of a grill after dinner has been cooked and is being served?
Perhaps some kind of a no fuss cobbler that you can quickly assemble in a pan, close the lid, come back in X minutes and it's done? |

Grilled peaches are awesome! Just half them and put cut side down. |

Thought I would take newmeats idea to the next level.
Core and apple almost all the way through, leaving a bit of skin to seal the bottom. Set the apples on a square piece of foil move foil around the apples to tightly cover base of apple, working towards the top.
Mix equal parts brown sugar and butter, raisins and chopped pecans and reserve pour a shot of rum, bourbon or your favorite liqour into the hole in apple.
Fill apple with nut/raisin mixture place a pen inside apple and close foil tightly around pen. Remove pen and place on grill using indirect heat of 275 to 300 degrees for one hour or till apples are soft.
Serve with ice cream or bourbon cream. _________________ Chargriller Akorn

I made those apples this past week on a camping trip. I made a box using tin foil, placed the apples, wrapped in foil in the box and then wrapped everything in a foil blanket. I added a bit of water, for some steam and to help keep the temp from getting too high, to the box once it was on the grill over the fire. The only thing missing was some ice cream.
Before cooking I stuffed the cored apple with a mixture of rasins, chopped pecans, butter and brown sugar and vanilla. _________________ Chargriller Akorn

Oooh, I have a couple!!
Slices of pineapple on the grill. About 3-4 minutes per side.
Drizzle with a sauce that is equal parts mascarpone cheese and Nutella (chocolate hazelnut spread) that you have warmed up and whisked together.
Chopped pecans or walnuts on top are optional.
Fresh strawberries--run TWO wooden skewers through a bunch of strawberries (two keeps them from rolling around), sprinkle with a bit of sugar, grill for about 2-3 minutes total.
I like to serve them on some vanilla ice cream with MaineMapleDave's maple syrup drizzled over.
Grilled red bananas:
Slice through the skins and about halfway into red bananas lenghtwise. Dab in some butter, vanilla, and a little sugar. Grill for about 5 minutes in the skin.
They go great with ice cream as above. _________________ New Braunfels Offset Smoker

One large can apple pie filling
Plain white cake mix
cube of butter melted
a little cinnamon dust
Put pie filling in aluminum drip pan [ the disposable type] 9x13 or so
Cover pie filling with dry cake mix
Pour melter butter over top
Sprinkle with cinnamon
Bake in 350° cooker till nice and brown, 30-40 min or so
Very easy and good. _________________ lets eat!! |

I really enjoyed reading all of these recipes. I have grilled a lot of different fruits before but the one thing that I've never done is murf's idea and it really does sound good. I'm going to have to try it really soon. Thanks for sharing! _________________ Steak recipes, grilling tips, and steak house reviews |

I only did one for a test, I cored the apple almost all the way to where it just layed open in a circle sprayed on some butter, sprinkled liberal amount of sugar then Cinnamon on top, wrapped it in foil and left the top open so I could check it while it was cooking. 350* for 40 minutes and it was almost perfect, layed it out on a plate smacked down some vanilla ice cream and it was awesome. I cant wait to smoke some of these.Sorry no pics but I ate it so damn quick I didnt think about it until I was licking the plate... |

Ya want to try stuffing that apple with a mixture of chopped pecan, raisins, brown sugar and butter, then bake as you did. _________________ Chargriller Akorn
