I dont use acronyms much because I think theyre stupid, just like smileys, but sometimes I get lazy or feel like I need to say something that will probably get me banned, so I use them then. Here are a few that are missing.
prolly = probably
wana = Want to
gonna = going to
OTG = one touch gold
OTS = one touch silver
BBB = buck board bacon
CL = craig's list
CO = camp oven
CAB = certified angus beef
MiM = memphis in may
pron = invert the R&O and figure it out
Im sure thers more. |

Yep - it's a "living list" so there will always be more. . .
I've got several additions I need to make so I'll batch 'em together with the BBQ items you called out above. . . Totally forgot about MiM and CAB! (thanks for the memory jog! ) _________________

IBS = Internet Barbeque Syndrome: To run ones mouth (or fingers in this case) about subjects pertaining to BBQ with little or no previous practical experience, and no idea weather the information is good or bad.
Symptoms usually are high post counts during a reletivly a short term of membership. Generaly caused by watching to much TV, (usually BBQ Pitmasters) and /or not being able to walk away from the cornputer.
Treatment is the 12 step program. A minimum of 12 steps from the cornputer, the farther the better.

Hey mods, how about we put this in the General Discussion Sticky instead of in the Off Topic thread... I'm of the opinion that it is very much "on" topic and quite relevant to the discussions here on the Ring especially if you're a noob and don't recognize some of the acronyms. Just a thought.

Good idea except that the stickys for the general section are in the top section and not in the general section, because we had so many of them, there are only two stickys and an announcement in the Off Topic section, and if you didn't find it here, there's no guarantee you'd ever see it in the General section! _________________ Here's a change Robert.
