Hey Guys getting closer with making a decision here on a set up. Any feedback on Southern Yankee or any others?? I am really liking what I see with them. Let me know. Looking at the Shack to start with a upgraded 6ft smoker instead of the 4ft. Very Happy Very Happy

We looked and looked and looked at them and they are nice. I will tell you my reservations on owning one.

A: its wood framed from what I saw. Not sure how well it will hold up to heavy traveling.
B: Wood is heavy, weight = extra fuel = extra overhead = lower profit margin.
C: Cost per SQ FT on these trailers are huge. Not saying I wouldn't buy one but for startup cost in mind they are not a good fit.

We decided to to build out from a blank trailer with a few options. I have found out its cheaper to outfit the the trailer myself then buying a turnkey one. Just food for thought.

I bought a cabin in 2005 and it has held up well. I'd buy one again.

They are well built. My only complaint was I expected the paint job on smoker & grill to hold up longer. I believe they give a double coat. Some manufacturers do a lot more coats.

Everything tintreach mentions is true, but I decided to pay the extra.

I get away with towing it in FL with a GMC Savanah 2500 with towing package, but would ideally want a 3500 Duramax diesel.

Well, if I was going to shell out that money for a turnkey concession... the best bang for the buck I have found is here...

http://cgi.ebay.com/2010-Barbeque-Concession-Trailer-Mobile-Kitchen-/130407810933?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1e5ce94775

Sold buy

If I felt like going to get a small loan that is the trailer I would get.

You may also want to check for a used one on Craigslist. I'd stick with a 2005 or later model.
