OK, so today I did some nearly authentic Santa Maria BBQ. Just like on the Central Cali Coast, with the beans, salad, garlic bread and salsa. No pics on the grill since I was dodging storms and tornado warnings all afternoon, so all I have is a plated pic.
Mrs3StratMan says if I keep taking pics, I need to use better plates; I told her if I'm doing a good enough job, no one will notice the plate at all.

Looks pretty authentic to me.
Nice job.
P.S. We have those pesky tornadoes here too. As long as they don't carry the pit off, I'm ok. _________________ Brinkman Smoke N Pit Pro

3StratMan, can you wrap that plate up and send it to me cause it looks awesome. That is a fine looking summer plate up. Nicely done my man. _________________ Always remember slow and steady wins the race.

Looks just like it did when I lived there a couple years ago (actually Lompoc but it's basically the same); I do remember folks using that salsa on the tri-tip there too |

Lompoc... exactly where I learned about the Santa Maria BBQ, while stationed at Vandyland in the 80's. Nothing like seeing and smelling the smoke from the people cooking in the shopping center parking lots on Broadway in Santa Maria on Saturday afternoons. Great stuff. _________________ Home built 110 gallon triple barrel smoker

3StratMan - I counldn't comment whether its authentic or not, but it looks great and with regards the plate, i usually end up with paper, so looks great to me. Thanks for sharing. What's in the dressing for the salad. Tom _________________ Klose Mobile
