k.a.m.

Kevin they have followed your build and all have the same
thing to say, I hope one day I can fabricate and weld like that.
It means allot to have you say the things that you did.
Every Friday they can't wait to see what is being built
on the ring.

ksw5

I worked for a place that built railroad cars. I made allot
of friends there. About 8 years ago I went back to see
some of my old buddies and to ask the plant manager
if he would donate some scrap to the vo-tech school.
He said he would donate as much as we could use.
Since that time ACF industries has donated over 150
ton of steel and not junk........hy-80 and hy-100.
There was a local firm Pace Arrow who built motor homes
which recently went out of business who donated allot
of aluminum to the school. We also had another company
in the same town as the railroad car company who
donates allot of angle iron to the school. The company
also sends a representative from the company to our school
to give the students a certification test to work at the
company. The jobs start at 16 an hour. But if we
wouldn't have made these connections we would be
hurting for steel because the school doesn't have a large
budget.

Cody

Thanks, I have posted allot of pics of the projects the
students made over the last couple years. They have built allot
of beautiful gun cabinets that the auto body students
paint, they are really nice. They have also made picnic tables
for the railroad place that donated the steel. They were made
from 5/16 steel not something you want to move around
but they should last for a long long time.
In my opinion I think they learnmore on a project than
anything else they can do. We makesure they have the
basics mastered and then leave them do
a project or two.

Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Thanks Guys
Boomer

thatís what I kinda thought I sure am glad that you have some really good connections. I have took a couple of classes I found that metal is never in the budget even if itís for a welding class you can only learn so much out of a book and it looks like you get your kids loads of hands on and that makes for a great welder

OK... ITs a lovely piece of iron, but I gotta ask. What does it DO?? What is it?

Looks like it would come in handy if an Iron Maiden concert is sold out, and the doors are locked... and I need the perfect battering ram for the occasion.

Boomer said it was a "door knocker" for local drug enforcement. See the first post of the thread.

Rojellio Es Caliente

Yes I guess they have allot of names, and we have made
several over the last couple years. We make them for
local and county drug enforcement when the bad guys
just don't feel like answering the doorbell.
