I think this is the same style that was on my RD Special. It worked really well keeping the temps under control at the firebox end.

When I moved up to a Horizon 24x72 trailer smoker I had Roger put a plate at the firebox end a little different than this style but works similar.

I really love the Horizon smokers and their style of cooking.

I also have one in my horizon and it really helps even out the temps across the chamber.

I have that plate in my New Braunfels offset cooker, and it did a lot to even out my cooking chamber temps.

This old Oklahoma Joe smoker has bars welded in cooking chamber to support cooking grates. I thought about cutting these out and welding in some angle to suport grates so defuser plate can fit in cooker

The guys at horizon said they cut the diffuser plate in half so it will fit in this style of Oklahoma Joe So no mods are required
