|
|
A few folks have asked about an updated version of the BBQ workbook I created. There have not been a LOT of updates to it, but a few items have been added.
This workbook contains information like:
- BBQ safety tips
- Safe cooking temperatures
- All the different parts of the critters we love to cook with diagrams
- Conversion charts for recipes and such
- Recipes for rubs and sauces
- Different wood types
- and more
There is now also a section on making your first brisket and shows the way I typically do mine. It WILL be different than a lot of others do theirs, but it's a good starting point for someone new to the hobby.
This workbook is a normal Excel type of workbook and is fairly easy to navigate through.
If you notice any bugs, broken links, etc. please let me know and I'll get them fixed as soon as I can.
Also, if you have any suggestions as to further content, please let me know and I'll see about getting it on there as well.

Now available in PDF format.

I've had a lot of fun putting it together and it has grown a LOT since I first started it.
I have found that the older you get the less you seem to retain sometimes. I noticed that I had a LOT of notes laying around and decided that all of them needed to be compiled somewhere... Then the BBQ Workbook happened.
I have a couple of ideas that I plan to add over the Holidays and will update it with the same file name on my site.
Enjoy,

Thanks for the suggestions and feedback all.
I've had a lot of fun putting this together and doing some cooks to make sure that what I had in my head, or in my notes, was correct.
As the suggestions come in I'll try to keep it updated.
I have updated the Workbook to reflect the following as requested:
Added updated list of acronyms
Added ABT directions to appetizer section
Added 3-2-1 rib procedure
I also added a "Last Updated" date at the bottom left corner of the Workbook on the front page so you can see what version you have.
I skipped the "Version 1.6.925.XLR" stuff since I never understood them and dates are easier for me!
Keep the suggestions coming and I'll continue to provide updates.
Also, if anyone follows the directions for the ribs or brisket please let me know if I need to clarify anything or add a step. What makes sense in my thick head may not make sense to others.
