I have a Model #ET-7 Redi-Chek® Dual Probe Remote Thermometer by Maverick that the remote quit working on. Everything works except it will not display the remote temps. New batteries in both ends. Is there a similar reset like on other units. Sort of like a master reset?

I see the antenna symbol flash but no reading.

Yet another POS made in China.

Throw it in the trash and buy something without a wire lead.

Ocassionally my remote will stopworking. If I take it over to the transmitter unit and turn it all off and then on again it will reboot. Definately in the POS catagory.

Yeah, I thought this would be better quality than it is. I have set the two units side by side several times and powered off and on and hit the tx button. Maybe I will send it back of maybe I will put a bullet in it and that would make me feel better anyway........

Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Ditch the crutch and become a better pit master IMO. Wink I have my cooker set up so I can see the thermo from the window. I spin the pit thermo so that 225 points straight up, quick glance out the window good to go or need to add wood.

Also do you really need to know that a chunk of meat stalls at 160*F when you know that is likely going to take 8 to 10 hours to cook?

My first Maverick ET-73 lasted about 7 years. I'm now on my second and things are going well, knock on wood <knocks>. LOL If it is "luck of the draw" I should go buy lottery tickets LOL.

The first obvious question is that the receiver is turned on first. Other than that I'd take it back and see if my luck got better with another one.

Thanks Sgt Stel, I may send it back with a bullet hole in it and say "I just don't know what happened to it". Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing

I had ok luck with my Maverick. The first one crapped out after the 3rd smoke, but Customer Service was excellent and sent me out a new one. That worked great until I placed it on the lid of my smoker and melted the thing. Embarassed

I bought another one. Granted, they're not the greatest peice of engineeing and manufacturing wizzardry, but then again, they're not the POS some people insist they are Wink

Ya just gotta consider the source biffalo.....

As for Maverick, I contacted them and they said send it back if they can't fix it they will send me a new. I think that is pretty dang good customer service.

Unlike others I actually learn from my mistakes and can admit it and no longer need a thermo-crutch.

Cheers

I've had mine for several years with no problem. I added the extra antenna length and that helped the range a bit.

Yup...X2 Wink

BTW...I used an antennae from my OLD POS cell phone...still going strong after 4 years after the mod. Cool

I think the mod post was pre-"Server Crash" here the first time.

I'm sure someone (maybe the original author of the mod post) will chime in
on this. Wink

Worked for Me! Cool

Best Regards,

Tony Very Happy
