2 years of dreams, 3 months of work and the "Bronco Burner" is DONE. A special thanks goes out to some of my fellow Ringers for their input over the last few months.....Alien, Zilla, K.A.M, Hillbilly, LilBabyHuey and BBQMAN. Here are the pics from the entire build. Hope you all like how it turned out, I know I am! The build was modeled after a GATOR PIT......

Outstanding build! Very impressive - I like everything I see! Very Happy

I have a feeling I should recognize the box you used for the vertical cook chamber, but I don't. What was that use for originally?

Nice job - I know that rig is going to produce some marvelous Q for years to come! Cool

Cheers

The upright was the under carriage box from a semi. Seems to work very well so far.

Great looking build, and nice use of the steel tool chest! Cool

If you rotate the temp gauges to your preferred cooking temps where the needle is pointing straight up, all you have to do is look out the window to tell if you are in the zone! Wink

I found a great deal on some diamond plate aluminum on craigslist and decided to make a little something for the "Bronco Burner". This little project cost me $1.75, money well spent.

So is it a Broncosmoker because it can smoke a Sooner? lol. OK sorry had to go there. Good looking build, always like personalized touches on smoker so they don't look so generic.

NICE BUILD! 1 question though, if the bottom is square in the verticle, how do you drain the grease?

Good question, The pit sits at a slight angle so the grease will run. I then have a hole, that's not in the pics with a valve. I took the pics before I made the hole.

Yeah! Good job. Keep it simple. All you need is to be sure the s.o.b sit's on and angle and bingo, the grease collects at the low end where the valve is.

I like your thinking BMORSE1981

BMORSE1981 Would you be so kind to post a few more up close pics of your verticle addition, how you mounted it, and where the flow comes in through the tuning plates? Do you think it would help it any if you bored a few holes above grate level so your heat would get more into the top of the verticle?
