Hi,

I picked this spyder up this weekend at a fleamarket for $6. I got it cleaned and seasoned. The best way to break in CI, bacon, homemade buckboard.

Setting in the backyard eating bacon right out of the pan, as good as it gets.

Mike

It's called a spider and is used just like a campoven for open fire or hearth cooking.

Thanks guys

These are kinda hard to find but if you do try to get one or more. Most are pre 1900. I think I am goinr to try hearth cooking this winter.

This looks cool but I think the wife would kill me.

Cool skillet! I had never seen one before either, but will be keeping an eye out for one... And your right, frying bacon is the best and easiest way to break in CI!
