So far, I have 17 state agency luncheons booked over the next 3 months with more coming in all the time. (just booked 2 today).

State agencies almost ALWAYS have their luncheons as "mandatory meetings" and are always held "off premise" from their office location. One reason is most don't have room to hold meetings but really they (agencies) don't want "Joe public" driving by a state office and seeing a caterer's vehicle there.. Shocked Shocked

A couple luncheons next week are going to be "pick ups" for this very reason. They will pick it up at my commissary...Pulled pork, chicken, beans, potato salad and slaw. One is for 135 and the other is for 65 guests.

With already giving a discount for state agencies, there will be no further discounts for P/U.

99% are either repeat customers or referrals... But in the beginning I signed up with my state on their website as an "approved vendor" to do business with the state.

Agencies see us on the state website and call for availability. For payment, (most of the time) we are paid by direct deposit right to our bank account....no money changes hands. Wink The ones that do pay by check CAN (and most do) take up to 30 days to pay.. Shocked Shocked

In the past, we have done between $20K-$30K a year from state agencies....at a discount I might add. Shocked

Their Per Diem is $15 inclusive so I match that....on a 2 meat combo, it works out to be a $4.14 per person discount.

The ONLY reason I do this (well 2 reasons really) is they are always on a week day where I normally do not do much business. The second reason is I get a LOT of referrals from attendees that maybe be having a private event on another date.. weddings, b-days, retirements, etc
