What’s your favorite cookbook? You know the one that has been dog-eared, book marked, written in, and stained over time....
As a person who is still learning a lot of the basics I have to say that I am constantly turning to “The All New Joy of Cooking” for basic information and tips and tricks.
But my new favorites are “The Daily Soup Cookbook” by Leslie Kaul (I love making soup) and the new “Kitchen Sense” (Try the Ultimate Mac n’ Cheese recipe- it’s the best) by Mitchell Davis. I would love to know what you turn to so that I can maybe add that book to my collection. |

I love the stories and tips in Peace, Love, and BBQ, but I learned to cook on the Joy of Cooking. _________________ Weber 22" Kettle

i recently read a book called "the grill of victory" it wasn't a cook book so much but more told the story of a mim competition that was held for the first time in virginia. it was well written and each chapter looked at the competition from a different view point: the organizers, the judges, the towns people, the teams ect. it def opened my eyes to all of the behind the scenes stuff that happens at these things and i learned a few neat tricks of the world best along the way. a good read |

Bull Cook and Authentic Historical Recipes and Practices by George Leonard Herter of Waseca MN is by far the most informational and fun cookbook I've ever seen. Prairie Dog Bat Masterson, Venison Hamburger Cochise, How to make a Mint Julip. Plus lots of information on most everthing! Good reading if you can find an edition (last printed 1965). |
