|

Hey fellow Q'ers, I am looking for some input on my "Backyard Rubs"
How It Works:
I will send you a sample of my rubs and all I ask is for you to fill out a short survey regarding your experience. I am just looking for some honest feedback on the direction I took with the rubs.
How To Join:
Send a Email to sicbackyardrubs@gmail.com with the subject "Sample Survey"
Please Include The Following:
Name
Shipping Address
Smoke Ring Username
Which Rubs You Would Like To Try (Pork, Poultry, Beef, Steak Crust) Or All 4.
Please keep in mind that I would like you to try them in a reasonable amount of time.
I would like everybody's info by March 1st
Sorry but this is only available to registered Smoke Ring Users with at least 10 posts. If your not then... join the best BBQ site on the web and get posting.
As soon as the survey is complete and the website is finished I will be joining the ring and Backyard Rubs will be available for purchase VIA the web.
Thanks to everyone who gets involed. I'm looking forward to you trying out my creations.

Ok boy's after 60+ emails all 20 slots are filled. It is very nice to see such a response from those willing to help and have a taste of my rubs.
To those participating in the survey:
I will be shipping out the samples (hopefully early) next week, my new shipment of containers should be in on Tuesday so I will get them out the next day.
Each rub will include a recipe card with a paste that compliments the rub that I would like you to try so you can have the full experience of (SIC)BBQ (LOL) plus a short survey with a paid postage envelope to send it back to me. Thanks to all that are on board and I look forward to hearing your opinions on my creations.
Please remember honest feedback is very important, no need to sugar coat.....
Also I will be sending a copy of this in email to all testers.
Thanks, Jason _________________ sicbackyardbbq@gmail.com

Ok boy's all the rub has been made and packaged, all of the samples will be picked up Monday morning for shipping.
I wanted them out this week but I had a problem with my containers, they sent the jars but NO caps.
Sorry for the delay and thanks for trying Backyard Rubs.

Jason:
I just noticed this thread (shoot!). I see you are well into the taste test process.
I am not a part of your trial, but I thought I'd share with you a taste method that I recently did just to narrow down the rubs that I wanted to use.
I have seen some TV chefs do this, so it seemed reasonable to try it for a rub test:
I purchased a couple of pounds of ground pork from the butcher and made little sausage paddies with the rub mixed inside, cooked them up and passed out samples to the family for their tasting. I used a fairly generous amount of rub in each paddie, say a tsp in the palm of my hand and thoroughly mixed the paddie in hand for each rub.
I do not mean to horn in on your test, but I thought I'd let you know what I did just in case you want to try it.
Best of Luck to you on your test!

I am also looking forward to this......especially since we are ordering Hooters Wings and I am making pulled pork and ribs for a fairly decent sized (20 or so people) Super Bowl party! _________________ Dinger |

I thought the only way to eat Hooters wings was at the restaurant
I mean the wings suck A$$, but at least at the restaurant there are a lot of waitresses in short shorts and customize T-shirts.
Unless your wife and some of the other ladies will be serving |

LOL......I don't mind the wings at all.........and they do a killer take out business here in VA.........we have to pre-order a week in advance for the Super Bowl.
I will have to ask the wife if she can "doll it up" a bit, lol _________________ Dinger |

I agree with you Dawg.......every time I have tried eating there the service is slow as can be.........our neighbors are from Pittsburgh so they have people over every week. The neighbor generally cooks sausage and peppers and chili and then wey order 100 or so wings ......and there are never any left........add a butt and some ribs and man are we going to have a feast! _________________ Dinger |
