My Brother and I are driving from Roanoke VA to CHarlotte NC to see the Pats/Panthers game.

Does anyone know of a good BBq joint on that route? Would like to pick some up on the way.

What about Roanoke itself, anything in that area?

thanks

you might want to be carefull because I have no idea the last time that site was updated and some of the joints may still not be there. on that site I think they list the numbers of most of the joints so you might want to try and call them.

Exit 68 off Southbound I85. Go to the stoplight and make a U-turn. Gary's BBQ will be on the right. Open 10-10 everyday except Sunday. Good pork BBQ... sandwiches, trays, plates, other things too. A huge display of old advertising signs, clocks, and other items. Homemade banana pudding.

IF you are taking 85, then you pass right through Lexington, NC... There is a place called Lexington Barbecue there that is supposed to be about the best in the state.

I assume you’re going to take I-81 south to I-77 into Charlotte. If so there’s a place almost in Charlotte on Sunset rd just off I-77 – Bubba’s. I’ve eaten there several times, just vinegar based Carolina Q, no ribs or anything else – but it’s goood!

This is a mattor of opinion. I've eaten there and it's good, but I like Eastern NC BBQ better. Bill's in Wilson is the best I've had. Not really on your way, though. Confused
