The planner is based around those items available in Sam's Club and Costco in order to be have country wide coverage as I possible, rather than being area specific. _________________ Here's a change Robert.

Catering planner version 3.03 available now from http://www.bbq-review.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10 in the top post on this thread are the new versions of the Excel spreadsheet (.xls) and a Zipped version of the spreadsheet (.zip).
Now using the number of meats and the number of sides with an algorithm to calculate multiple meat / side figures. _________________ Here's a change Robert.

Just FYI, Head Country sauce in the gallon size jug is available at Sam's (well at least around here it is). _________________ Steve

OK I have to go to Sam's this afternoon, I'll take a look and ask them and I'll see what they say.
Then it will go in version 3.04! _________________ Here's a change Robert.

Soezzy, thanks for your efforts with the xls file. I've used it many times the past seven or eight months since you posted it on your site. In fact so many that I had to go back and get another copy. The old one got messed up.
Just wondering, has anyone taken the "cost to buy" factors out and developed a printout for customers to see "the costs to client"? Is this a good way to have someone plan their own menu?

Hi Wink
Your welcome to as many copies as it takes.
The trouble with removing, selecting and printing, is that those functions in a spreadsheet are macro functions for the most part, people are wary, (rightfully so), of macro and exe files being downloaded or download able from the web. So if I insert macro's for those functions ,some people won't ever download and use the spreadsheet.
I have super intentions to put this up as a php functioning website at some point in the future, when I have time and money to live while doing so, at that point each item will be customize able by the user, to pick what you want for a menu, and have the shopping list created for the caterer, and the menu, quote and contract, available as either an email or in printed form.
So for the moment that's the reason it slows down where it slows down! _________________ Here's a change Robert.

Thanks again, SoEzzy. I used the planner over the weekend to help a customer with a wedding he wants me to cater. It isn't until August, but I provide most of the items listed in your planner and it is a good tool for me to use. I've taken the good ideas from many on forum and used them to my advantage. I don't post much, but do review the site several times a week. And, I'm not adverse to taking someone else's idea and running with it.
To all those like yourself on this board, I thank you guys.

There is now a version of the catering planner for Canadians, it has a slightly different tax structure than the original version.
For any Canadian caterers who would like a copy, they can get a copy from catering304CA.xls in order to distinguish between the original or Canadian versions, the Canadian versions will have CA in their titles from now on. _________________ Here's a change Robert.

New Updates!
1) minor changes to the Math on some sections, now rounds up to next unit value so you should always have enough, even if it is just enough.
2) Addition of Loin Back ribs to pork section.
3) Minor corrections to some rib math on weights.
All the figures are "real" so if you have big or small eaters adjust accordingly with your portion size.
It is available either as an Excel file (catering304.xls) or as a Zip file (catering304.zip) you can download either, (by clicking the links), and use them on your own computer for free!
It is also now available for Canada, (new version of this one too), with GST and PST instead of Local Sales Tax, (catering305CA.xls). _________________ Here's a change Robert.

Thanks SoEzzy. Very generous of you to share this tool that contains a wealth of knowledge and experience.
Haven't tested it yet, but it's the best I've seen anywhere.
