If you check out my first pit, I cut the entire frame out, and welded in angle iron.

This time I wanted to try this method to make the door lighter.

tongue ties into the frame to another piece of 3x3 angle just forward of the hangers.

I'm going to adding some additional 4" C channel to stiffen things up.
