I use cast iron skillets on the glass cook top all the time. As long as your cast iron is smooth you wont have a problem.

Portabella caps is what I always cook for my son and daughter in law. drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and garlic powder.

in the 12" dutch oven, your cake will end up as a thinner layer than the same amount of cake would in a 10" dutch oven.

it all depends how thick you want your cake layer to be.

Use Sodium Hydroxide (caustic soda) diluted with water. When you heat it up, it foams so don't let it overflow.
Rinse everything good with clean water and it will be nice and shiny.
