Wood can only be measured in a cord.My wood supplier holds all of his hickory for me and charges me about $120 a cord,plus has some cherrywood every now and then

I just put some in a stew with some deermeat,it turned out good.I have also used it in Etouffe',I hate to sound pessimistic,but i'm not sure if it would be very good on the smoker...let us know
