I've read some people have put the meat on frozen. They said it gave the meat a thicker smoke ring.
I don't know...it could have been BS. The rule of thumb is keep it out of the 40-140degree temperat ...

Warm spices are bad. Open warm spices are worse. Old wet warm spices are green.
Sealed cold/frozen spices keep the longest. Like Coffee, I think it has something to do with the oil.
