The problem is that the URL you are using does not end in an image file extention.

Specifically the "?imgmax=640" part is the problem.

It is tough, if not impossible, to get crispy chicken skin in a 'low and slow' smoker. So, it is not anything you did 'wrong' IMO.

I like to finish off my chicken on my grill to crisp up the skin. ...
