slam, I own the gator budget moblie and I could not be happier with it. I have gotten it so with the tuning plates it runs about a 10-15 difference. I think one reason your pit was runing so different ...

Youll be fine. I started with a charbroil and my q turned out good. And yes it is going to be harder to matain the temp. I found on mine it was easyer to maintain constant temp in the hotter range 240 ...

nice looking ribs. What is on the left hand side of them? are those rib tips from the spares?

Ya after cleaning up the ribs I just put a little rub on them and tossed them on the pit after 3 hours ...

fired up the pit for some ribs and a bird. the chicken was the best I have ever done I should have left the ribs on for another 1/2 hour.
